Well Hello There…
So, yeah…I happened to have taken a nap earlier today. I fell asleep while reading on my iPad and instead of waking me up to go get the the kids, my hubby graciously let me sleep. Problem is though, now I’m kind of AWAKE! I’m going to take some Melatonin in a minute here because tomorrow is going to be a rather LONG day and I need to reserve some form of energy. As part of some “bonding time” my hubby and I are going to brave the night and enjoy the company of our Staff for an All-Nighter. If I haven’t mentioned this before, my hubby and I head up the YOUTH Ministry at our church. We have an incredibly wonderful opportunity to speak into the lives of a large group of 13-19 year olds each week. WE LOVE IT! God has really opened our hearts, in a tremendous way, to these amazing kids….well, teens! This bares a whole other story within itself, which I’ll have to share another time. Like Shrek says, “I’m like an onion….I have many layers!” lol! We take what we do seriously, but have a Blast doing so. It’s important for us to not only build great relationships with these Youth, but also with our Youth STAFF. They are just as important to us. One of the ways we build our relationships with them is by spending time together OUTSIDE of our ministry work. Our famous idea for tomorrow (we have our Youth Services on Friday Nights, by the way) is to bring out the“kids” in us. After our service, we will Paint the Town Red, Laugh a Whole Lot, and Consume Large Amounts of Caffeine until we end our Spectacular Adventure with an Early Morning Breakfast. (I must admit, I’m kind of tired thinking about this, but I’m really looking forward to it).
I’ve been racking my brain, thinking of healthier ways to shake the tired than drinking Energy Drinks or Coffee. I have gone off of Coffee for several months now and the only caffeine I have is in my Chai Tea. This also has its own back-story, but again, I’ll share another time. I imagine I will tire of drinking Chai and may very well be tempted to remain alert and wide eyed with something not so healthy. I do my best not to“cheat” as I call it, with things I have told myself not to have. I do a pretty good job most of the time until that temptation feeling overtakes me and I make a regrettable choice. I say regrettable only because I usually experience some type of side effect I’d rather not have had to deal with. Darn those Good Things that are Not So Good for you! Lol! Anyways, I am looking forward to tomorrow, I guess I mean today since its already so late, or early depending on how you look at it. I am always thrilled to spend time in the company of great people. We are going to bring out our “inner kid” in a safe and fun and much smarter way, NOT being actual kids….lol! Loud Laughing and Picture Taking may happen during this time as well! FB posts also may occur! Lol!
Well, as I sit here typing and realizing the lateness of the hour, I’m going to bid you all GOOD NIGHT! And take myself some Melatonin to help aid in my inability to fall asleep due to that dreaded napping issue. Lol! It was great talking to you! We must definitely do this again some time….let’s say tomorrow maybe!
Well until tomorrow then!
